The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer a series of cooking demonstrations at its Main Library for those looking for sugar-free options this holiday season.
“We are excited to welcome the fabulous duo of Bev Keller and Michelle Specht for this four-part cooking series,” said Director Michelle Ramsell. “These demos will not only be informative, but also fun, as we learn ideas to make the holidays enjoyable with zero sugar and zero guilt.”
Ramsell said attendees will have the opportunity to sample items and, in some cases, take something home during these hour-long demonstrations.
The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, Oct. 30, 6 p.m. — Jams and Jellies: Zero Sugar
Learn to make two-ingredient, zero-sugar jams and jellies using chia seeds. Participants will take home a sample jar.
Thursday, Nov. 6, 6 p.m. — Christmas Treats: Zero Sugar / Zero Guilt
Learn to make delicious cookies and desserts perfect for the holiday season. Participants will receive a small recipe booklet.
Thursday, Nov. 13, 6 p.m. — Protein Mamas Unite
Learn how to make zero-sugar, protein-rich coffee creamers that help meet daily protein goals while enjoying delicious beverages. Samples will be provided.
Saturday, Nov. 15, 10:30 a.m. — Zero Sugar Gift Giving
Kick off the Main Library’s Holiday Open House with the final session in the Zero Sugar series. Learn to make affordable, zero-sugar Christmas candies and treats perfect for gift giving. Participants will make a zero-sugar hot chocolate base to take home.
