Tuscarawas County libraries offer holiday crafting workshops
Free MakerSpace sessions in November and December invite families to create ornaments, décor and personalized gifts across local branches.
The Tuscarawas County Public Library System will offer a variety of holiday MakerSpace and crafting programs throughout November and December.
“We are excited to give families across our system the opportunity to give their loved ones creative gifts this holiday season,” said Library Director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell.
Programs across the library system include:
– Sublimation Ornaments — Drop in at the Main Library Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. to create an ornament using the sublimation printer and heat press.
– Cricut Holiday Ornaments — Register for a 15-minute time slot at the Sugarcreek Branch to make a holiday ornament using the Cricut.
– Lithophane Nightlight — Join the Bolivar Branch Tuesday, Nov. 11 or Nov. 25 from 4–7 p.m. to make a lithophane nightlight. Bring a photo to turn into a 3D model printed on the library’s 3D printer. Sessions are 30 minutes each, limited to one person per session.
– Mitten Door Hanger — Create a festive door decoration at the Main Library Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.
– Sublimation Kitchen Towels — Make a personalized towel at the Strasburg Branch Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. using the sublimation printer.
– Sublimation Memorial Ornament — Join the Tusky Branch Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 5:30 p.m. to make a memorial ornament. Participants must bring a digital photo.
– Waterless Snow Globe — Learn how to make a waterless snow globe at the Main Library Thursday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
– Salt Shaker Snowman — Design your own salt shaker snowman at the Main Library Thursday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
