Sacred Heart fish fry serves weekly crowds in New Philadelphia
The church serves more than 500 people each week and offers fish in three varieties, along with side dishes and desserts
Time is running out to enjoy a time-honored tradition of fish dinners at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Philadelphia.
The church serves more than 500 people each week and offers fish in three varieties, along with side dishes and desserts. Lenten fish dinners are offered Fridays through March 27 at Kathy Hamilton Hall, Sacred Heart Parish Center. Dinners are available for dine-in or carryout from 4-7 p.m.
Proceeds benefit church functions and general expenses, including rectory maintenance, administering sacraments, upkeep at three area cemeteries and religious education.
Dinners include a choice of fried, baked or lemon pepper fish; garlic-roasted potatoes or French fries; hush puppies; one side choice of coleslaw, applesauce or macaroni and cheese; bread and butter; dessert; and coffee, water or punch. Meals cost $12 for a regular size and $15 for a large. A la carte items, including cheese pizza and macaroni and cheese, are $2 each.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located at 139 Third St. NE.
