Patriotic program to honor veterans
In conjunction with America 250, this year’s theme, Pride of America, is a tribute to military veterans
Trumpet in the Land will present its annual music revue featuring the Trumpet Singers Saturday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts, 461 Robinson Drive SE, New Philadelphia.
In conjunction with America 250, this year’s theme, Pride of America, is a tribute to military veterans and will feature military medleys and music made popular during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and beyond.
During the Armed Forces medley, veterans will be asked to join Trumpet Singers Bart Herman, DeeAnne McCoy, Jackie Luthy, Kami Stanley and Kenn Holmes as they sing the anthem of each branch of the military. In addition to the USO performance, the evening will feature a heavy appetizer buffet and a silent and basket auction.
“We are extremely proud to host this event,” said General Manager Margaret Bonamico. “It is not only a musical event, but a wonderful opportunity for those in attendance to witness the dedication of our service members and the sacrifices they’ve made for us over the years. It isn’t just a music revue; it’s a demonstration of pride and a chance to honor the men and women who have and are continuing to serve.”
Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the performance at 7 p.m. Cost is $40 for veterans and $50 for non-veterans. Reservations can be made by calling 330-364-5111.
