Local business owner Rocky Shanower will speak about his journey as a restaurant entrepreneur during the Lunch and Learn program.

Local business owner Rocky Shanower will speak about his journey as a restaurant entrepreneur during the Lunch and Learn program Thursday, Aug. 21, at 12:15 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.

Shanower, who grew up in Sugarcreek, opened his first restaurant in 2003 with no prior experience. Since then, he and his wife, Courtney, have created three unique pizza concepts and currently operate three restaurants in Ohio, with plans to open another location in Texas.

“Creating opportunities for people on our team and supporting the community that has always supported us is what gives our work meaning,” Shanower said.

In addition to running his restaurants, Shanower regularly speaks at Pizza Expo events across the country and mentors other restaurant and business owners.

The Lunch and Learn series is hosted by the Dover Public Library on the third Thursday of each month. All programs in the series take place at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, located at 425 Prospect St. in Dover.
