The Dominic Greco Band will present Horns-A-Plenty Holiday Horn Choir, a new community music event celebrating the French horn this holiday season. The one-day gathering will take place Sunday, Dec. 14, at Claymont High School, 4205 Indian Hill Road, Uhrichsville.

Modeled after the long-running Tuba Christmas tradition, Horns-A-Plenty invites French horn players of all ages and experience levels to rehearse together in the morning and perform a free public concert in the afternoon.

Event schedule — Sunday, Dec. 14 Registration: 9 a.m. Rehearsal: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Free concert: 1 p.m.

Under the direction of Dr. Scott MacPherson, participants will rehearse a selection of classic holiday tunes before taking the stage for a free community concert. Families, friends and supporters are encouraged to attend and enjoy the rich, seasonal sound of a horn choir.

Organized by Steven Chambers, Emma Hinkle, Steve Stroup and Erica van Pelt, the event aims to become an annual holiday tradition in Tuscarawas County.

“We’re excited to launch a new opportunity for horn players to collaborate and celebrate the holidays through music as well as share the beauty of a French horn choir,” organizers said. “Our hope is that Horns-A-Plenty becomes a cherished event that grows each year.”

Pre-registration is recommended, but same-day registration will be accepted.
