Community members across the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area are invited to sign up for Healthy Steps presented by Lucky Shoes, a free four-week walking program of the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition throughout April.
Healthy Steps promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages community members to explore the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, National Heritage Area, and parks and trails within their communities. Beginning April 1 and continuing through April 30, participants will track their steps and submit them weekly for the chance to win prizes. All walkers are eligible to receive a ticket voucher to a regular-season Akron RubberDucks game for participating.
Participants are also invited to join Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition staff and community guests for weekly Towpath walks on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail on scheduled dates and times, which will be communicated in the kickoff and weekly email newsletters, Walker’s Weekly.
