Dover library plans February fun for kids and families

The month begins with National Take Your Child to the Library Day Saturday, Feb. 7. Families can enjoy popcorn, drink pouches and games.

“We like to involve families in our fun,” said Jen Gardner, children’s department manager. “We will pull out some fun board games, life-size games and our game tablet will be available also.”

Coloring, crafts and books also will be available. Gardner said the Friends of the Library recently purchased a new dollhouse and train table, and the department has added new interactive toys. Activities will be offered throughout the day. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Storytimes will be held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Other programs include Lego Builders at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, and a Playdough Playdate with a Valentine’s theme at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14.

Wacky Wednesday will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, with a Winter Olympics theme. Children can participate in indoor library “Olympics,” and medals will be given.

No registration is required for the programs.
