West Holmes girls basketball falls to Ashland

Ashland picked up a 63-55 win over West Holmes in Ohio Cardinal Conference girls basketball action Jan. 31.

Zalina Proper (26 points), Briar Cline (14 points, seven rebounds), Mari Patterson (eight points), Mati Fair (three steals), Rorie Wilcox (four rebounds) and Cara McMillen (four rebounds) paced WH.

West Holmes defeated Dover 43-38 in OCC play Jan. 28.

McMillen (15 points, five steals, four rebounds), Proper (14 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals), Cline (six rebounds) and Fair (four rebounds) led the Knights.

Boys basketball

Triway rolled to a 72-49 win over West Holmes in nonleague play Feb. 3.

Nate Sprang (15 points) and Preston Troyer (14) paced WH.

River View picked up a 58-41 victory over West Holmes in a nonconference clash Jan. 31.

Sprang (11) and Coi Beachy (10) led the Knights.

Lexington defeated West Holmes 64-47 in OCC play Jan. 30.

Cooper Maltarich (20), Troyer (10 points) and Beachy (five assists, four steals) paced WH.

Junior varsity girls basketball

Ashland defeated West Holmes 34-28 on Jan. 31.

Chelsie Cooper (nine points, seven steals, four rebounds), Jocelyn Olney (six steals), Zoe Walter (three steals), Bre Willard (four steals) and Brinley Malachin (five steals) paced the Knights.

Dover beat West Holmes 46-29 on Jan. 28.

Gabby Fowler (seven points), Cooper (six steals), Emma McDonnell (five rebounds) and Malachin (six steals, three assists) led WH.

Junior varsity boys basketball

Triway defeated West Holmes 44-37 on Feb. 3.

Hudson Flanders (13 points), Jaden Baker (10) and Kolton Taggart (seven) paced WH.

West Holmes beat River View 53-26 on Jan. 31.

Baker (13), Flanders (12), Ryder Fox (eight) and Marshall Yoder (seven) led the Knights.

Lexington defeated West Holmes 55-35 on Jan. 30.

Baker (10) and Cole Troyer (nine) paced WH.

Freshman girls basketball

Dover picked up a 17-12 win in one half of play Jan. 28.
