TOPS Nashville highlights weight-loss success, tips
Program focuses on portion control, healthy habits
TOPS1573 Nashville held a no-gainer meeting April 15.
The best weekly loser was Geneva Pringle, who recommended portion control and eating from a small plate. Leo Tope was recognized as the best weekly KOPS.
Tope also presented a program from the November/December issue of TOPS News. The first article, “Breaking Old Habits,” focused on strategies to maintain weight loss. The second article, “A Winning Hand,” highlighted the food exchange system, using cards that name and show pictures from the seven food groups.
The Food Exchange System was created by the American Diabetes Association to help diabetics manage blood sugar through portion control. Participants first determine the number of calories needed to function while losing weight, then select foods for each meal within that calorie range.
TOPS meets at Nashville Methodist Church on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m.
