ProVia set to create $27 million expansion in Walnut Creek
The project includes a new three-story innovation and customer experience center and is expected to create 50 new jobs while retaining more than 600 existing positions.
The land on the east side of the current ProVia corporate headquarters in Walnut Creek will soon house a new $27 million, three-story building that will house an innovation center and the company’s customer experience team.

ProVia is growing
again, this time adding an addition to its Walnut Creek facility that once
completed will bring many new positions.
On Monday, Jan. 12, Mark Leininger, executive director of Holmes County Economic Development, met
with the Holmes County Commissioners to pass a Holmes Enterprise Zoning
Resolution application and agreement on behalf of ProVia and holding company
CBSA Ltd.
The agreement is
for ProVia to build a three-story, 127,000-square-foot building on its land
east of the current entry door production facility and corporate headquarters.
ProVia manufactures
and sells professional-grade, customizable home exterior products — primarily
entry, storm and patio doors; vinyl windows; vinyl siding; and manufactured stone
and metal roofing, focusing on
high-quality energy-efficiency, with the company being ENERGY STAR certified and providing
personalized options for homeowners and remodelers.
Leininger said the
new building will house an innovation center and the company’s customer
experience team. That latter move will require some personnel movement from the
three Tuscarawas County-based locations.
“Currently, the
customer service function is spread out at different facilities, three of which
are in Tuscarawas County,” Leininger said. “Those positions would be relocated
to the finished facility.”
He said because of
that, it required them to obtain a waiver from the Ohio Department of
Development, which made the process take longer than usual. That waiver was
received from the ODD Dec. 23, and notices went out to the schools in October.
Leininger said the
project projects to be a capital investment of $24.5 million on the facility
for ProVia, along with an additional investment of $2.5 million on equipment.
The proposed
agreement is the typical 10 years and 50% tax rate, with ProVia estimating the
completion of the project will result in the creation of 50 new full-time
employment positions and the retention of the current 615
employment positions.
Construction on
the new facility is expected to begin sometime in April.
As for the three
Tuscarawas County operations that will see a handful of employees make the
switch to the new Walnut Creek facility, Leininger said the everyday production
at those facilities won’t change at all.
He said the three
facilities in Strasburg, New Philadelphia and Sugarcreek continue to grow and
thrive.
“It’s anticipated
that there will be a net gain of employment positions at those facilities,”
Leininger said.
He said ProVia expects to bring two people from the New
Philadelphia building and approximately 15 from Sugarcreek and 30 from
Strasburg to the new facility.
“It’s a very small
percentage of the overall workforce at each facility,” Leininger said. ‘The
Ohio Department of Development didn’t have any concerns about it.”
He said ProVia
believes this customer service function is integral in the continuing
growth of the company because their focus is on customer service.
“Their motto is ‘We care for details in ways that others won’t,’ so they feel it is important
that they have a team in place, and by centralizing it, they think they will
improve that function,” Leininger said. “It’s fully expected that all of those
facilities will continue to grow and add positions.”
Commissioner Joe
Miller commended ProVia founder Bill Mullet on his innovation and commitment to
helping to propagate servant leadership, not only in his company, but also in the surrounding community.
The commissioners
passed the resolution on the contingency of the Walnut Creek Trustees giving
their approval, something Leininger said was likely. He said they have
been involved in the discussion, but their prior meeting had to be postponed.
According to
Leininger, discussion about developing the Enterprise Zone Agreement began back
in October 2025.
