Hiland girls cruise in IVC opener; boys edged by John Glenn
Lady Hawks roll past Ridgewood behind balanced scoring; Hiland boys fall in tight nonleague matchup.
The Hiland girls basketball team rolled to a 61-21 win over Ridgewood in an Inter-Valley Conference clash Dec. 1.
Reagan Zerger led the Lady Hawks with 17 points and eight rebounds. Macy Mullet added 12 points and three steals, Perryn Mishler chipped in 11 points and three assists, and Evie Mast contributed 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Hiland opened the season with a 49-29 nonleague win over Waynedale Nov. 28.
Mishler (18 points), Mullet (10 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) and Zerger (nine points, seven rebounds, three assists) paced the Lady Hawks.
Boys basketball
John Glenn picked up a 47-43 nonleague win over Hiland Dec. 2.
Ryan Zerger led the Hawks with 17 points. Alex Miller added nine points, Caleb Yoder seven and Ashton Schrock six.
