Garaway Board hires assistant treasurer and approves fall financial forecast
Board actions at the Oct. 9 special meeting also included new staff contracts, substitute approvals, and unpaid leave requests.
Jessica Karl was hired as an assistant to the treasurer, accounts payable, during a special Garaway Board of Education meeting on Oct. 9. Karl was hired on a three-month probationary contract at $21 per hour (probationary) and $22 per hour (post-probationary), effective Nov. 3, pending all background checks are met.
The board also did the following:
—Issued a one-year pro-rated contract to Tamara Corbett, child nutrition department, four-hour cook, effective Oct. 6.
—Approved Jessica Numbers as a classified substitute for the 2025-26 school year.
—Approved the fall forecast for estimated and current year expenses for the district.
—Approved unpaid leaves for Nicole Fender (2 1/2 days) and Mary O’Farrell (1/2).
The next regular board meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. in the high school library, 146 Dover Road NW, Sugarcreek.
