Lake Township zoning board OKs residential use
Permit granted for residential use on Cleveland Avenue in a commercial district.
At a public hearing Jan. 22, the Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals approved a request by applicant Kristen Whitlock and property owner Sophie Burns for a conditional use permit for residential use in a commercial district at 11316 Cleveland Ave. NW. The property is located in a Light Commercial (C-1) district.
The next meeting of the Lake Township Board of Zoning Appeals will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Township Hall, 12360 Market Ave. North. All meetings are open to the public.
The board consists of five members and one alternate, all appointed by the Lake Township trustees. The board hears and decides appeals, authorizes variance requests, and issues or revokes conditional zoning certificates. Those wishing to speak at BZA hearings are asked to take an oath or affirmation and state their name and address for the record. Decisions of the board are final but may be appealed to the Stark County Court of Common Pleas.
