The Lake Township Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of its 2025 Lake Chamber Awards, which will be presented during a banquet Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Hartville Kitchen.
Awards will be presented in five categories, with honorees nominated by peers and selected by a committee of chamber members. Six individuals will receive chamber awards, and two additional awards will be presented through a partnership with Visit Canton.
Visit Canton will present two new honors this year – the Tourism Ambassador Award and the Destination Impact Award – recognizing leadership and initiatives that promote tourism and strengthen community vibrancy in the Lake Township and Hartville areas. A Visit Canton representative will present the awards during the event.
“Our 2025 slate of award recipients makes evident the importance of history, longevity, innovation and dedication in a prosperous and thriving community,” said Chip Weisel, chamber president.
The Outstanding Business Professional Award will be presented to Bill and Michelle Bakan of Maize Valley Winery & Craft Brewery for their commitment to customer experience, high-quality products and long-term success in agri-tourism.
Christian Ramsburg of Hartville Elevator Co. will receive the Outstanding Young Professional Award in recognition of his leadership, initiative and community involvement.

Kathy Butcher of Hartville Mercantile has been selected for the Community Impact Award for her role in coordinating the village’s annual “An Evening in the Village” tree lighting celebration.
The Educator of the Year Award will be presented to Kristina Kindler of Lake Center Christian School for her impact on students and her commitment to education and community.
Norm Wengerd of GentleBrook will receive the Legacy Award in recognition of his leadership, integrity and long-standing service to the Lake Township community.
Visit Canton has selected Hartville/Lake Community Development as the recipient of its Destination Impact Award for the Heritage Gateway Project in historic downtown Hartville and coordinated wayfinding signage.
The Visit Canton Tourism Ambassador Award will be presented to Megan Wise, tourism director for the Lake Township Chamber of Commerce.
Tickets are $50 per person or $400 for a table of eight and are available at lakechamber.com/LCA. Advance registration and payment are required, with a registration deadline of Feb. 17. Seating is limited, and the event is expected to sell out.
