Throwback: Cadiz Sohio station once offered full service

Historic photo highlights era when attendants pumped gas, cleaned windshields and offered free tire air

This Sohio–Standard Oil gas station once stood at the intersection of West Spring Street and Lincoln Avenue in Cadiz. The photo was taken in 1990 by Jim McFarlan and later placed in a scrapbook donated to the Harrison County Historical and Genealogical Society. The station was owned by Dale Moore and operated as a full-service station — an attendant would come out to pump your gas, clean your windshield and, if asked, check your oil. Air for your tires was free.
