Oak management workshop set for Sept. 26 at Hepatica Falls Tree Farm
Landowners can learn strategies for managing and restoring oak trees during a field day workshop Friday, Sept. 26, at Hepatica Falls Tree Farm, 79475 Freeport-Tippecanoe Road.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is part of the Ohio Woodland Stewards and A Day in the Woods programs. It is hosted by Randy and Koral Clum, who have restored and managed oaks on their tree farm.
Participants will gain knowledge on how to manage oaks for multiple objectives, including healthy forests, diversity, timber production and wildlife habitat creation. The program will be held outdoors.
The cost is $15, which includes lunch and class materials. The registration deadline is Sept. 19.
To register, visit go.osu.edu/oaks25 or call 614-688-3421.
The event is presented by The Ohio State University Extension, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, and local soil and water conservation districts.
