Junior Fair Board launches 2026 fair season with Steer Tag-In and volunteer appreciation

Members served breakfast and met with committees as they work to strengthen partnerships and shape plans for next year’s Harrison County Junior Fair.

Kanin Kimble, Bristol Warner, Hattie Warner, Mallorie Dean and Sydney Lynch prepared pastries, coffee and juice for volunteers and committee members assisting with the tag-in process.

The Harrison County Junior Fair Board began preparations for the 2026 fair season by hosting its annual Steer Tag-In Saturday, Nov. 22. As part of the event, Junior Fair Board members served breakfast to show their appreciation for the Sale Committee and Senior Fair Board members who worked with families throughout the morning.

The breakfast included pastries, juice and hot coffee for volunteers and committee members assisting with the tag-in process.

Strengthening collaboration is a primary focus for the Junior Fair Board this year. Board members say they hope to build stronger relationships with the committees that help create positive opportunities for youth exhibitors at the Harrison County Junior Fair.

“We have so many ideas to re-vamp our group, and this is one way that we can get a start on being successful for the upcoming year,” said 2025 Junior Fair Board President Mallorie Dean.

Following the tag-in, members delivered the breakfast items to the Sale Committee meeting, where they introduced themselves, thanked the committee for hosting the event, and shared ideas for the upcoming fair season. Members also took notes on discussions and decisions to bring back to the full board during its December meeting.
