Huskies now 6-7 after 4-3 loss to Jets and 3-0 setback against Red Riders, with St. Clairsville up next
The Harrison Central boys soccer team faced the Union Local Jets in Morristown Tuesday, Sept. 23, for the second time in a week and came up short in a 4-3 loss. The Huskies had won the first meeting 1-0.
This contest was also decided by a one-goal margin, but the Jets held the upper hand. Harrison led 2-1 at halftime before Union Local rallied to score three times in the second half. Goals for the Huskies were credited to Cooper Thompson, Justin Scott and Tristen Cole. Assists went to Hunter Fulton and Cole, while Brady McAfee stopped nine shots.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Huskies traveled to Weir High, where the Red Riders earned a 3-0 victory. The first half was evenly played until Weir broke through with a goal at the eight-and-a-half–minute mark, then added another barely a minute later. The Riders tacked on a second-half goal for the final margin. McAfee finished with six saves.
The Huskies were scheduled to host the St. Clairsville Red Devils Tuesday. St. Clairsville enters at 10-1-1, while Harrison stands at 6-7.
