Ridgewood senior wins top Ohio academic award
Ava Rauh-Hill honored with Franklin B. Walter Award for excellence and leadership
Ridgewood Local Schools announced senior Ava Rauh-Hill was named a 2026 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award winner, one of the most prestigious academic honors awarded to high school seniors across Ohio.
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award Program, established by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association, recognizes academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Each spring only one senior from each Ohio county — nominated by their local educational service center — is selected for this honor.
Rauh-Hill earned this recognition through her academic performance, consistently demonstrating excellence across a rigorous course load while maintaining a strong commitment to her school and community. In addition to her academic success, Rauh-Hill has been actively involved in school activities, has taken on leadership roles and has demonstrated a genuine willingness to support others. Her character, work ethic and positive attitude have made her a respected and valued member of the Ridgewood High School community.
“Ava represents the very best of Ridgewood Local Schools,” Superintendent Mike Masloski said. “Her dedication, integrity and commitment to learning have truly set her apart. She is the type of student who not only excels academically, but also makes those around her better.”
Following graduation, Rauh-Hill plans to attend Bowling Green State University, where she will pursue a degree in mathematics with the goal of becoming a high school teacher.
The awards ceremony was held April 13 at The Ohioan Hotel & Event Center in Lewis Center.
