Donations sought for West Lafayette fireworks

As the nation prepares to celebrate America's 250th birthday, West Lafayette will honor this historic milestone during the annual July homecoming celebration, themed "Happy Birthday America," an event that brings together residents, visitors and families from across the area.

As part of the homecoming festivities, the West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is planning a community fireworks display to mark this anniversary and invites local businesses to partner with them in making this celebration possible. The total cost of the fireworks display is $12,000, and the chamber is seeking business sponsorships to help fund the event. To allow for proper planning and recognition, all donations are requested by Monday, June 15.

Business sponsorship levels include the following:

—Platinum sponsor: $2,500 or more and top-level recognition as a major fireworks sponsor.

—Gold sponsor: $1,000-$2,499 and recognition as a supporting fireworks sponsor.

—Silver sponsor: $500-$999 and recognition as a community business supporter.

—Community business supporter: Up to $499.

Donors who contribute at the platinum, gold or silver levels will be recognized on a banner displayed at the homecoming and acknowledged on Facebook. Platinum sponsors also will be mentioned in newspaper and radio ads.

Donations may be made in either of the following ways:

—Contribute directly to the Home Loan Savings Bank, c/o West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Fund.
