District 5 Volleyball Coaches Association announces all-star selections
River View’s Haley Balo earns Player of the Year; Ridgewood and Coshocton athletes also recognized ahead of Nov. 12 all-star match
The District 5 Volleyball Coaches Association All-Stars were selected by coaches.
For Division IV, River View's Haley Balo was named Player of the Year and selected to compete in the state all-star game. The Coach of the Year honor also went to River View's Rose Olinger, who will help coach the east all-stars.
First-team honors in the large division were given to River View's Haley Balo, Layla Olinger and Kelsie Smith. Second-team honors went to River View's Lindyn Fry, and honorable mention was given to River View's Remington Lewis.
In the mid-division Ridgewood's Anyssa Cutlip and Ayanna Masters received first-team honors. Cutlip also was named to the all-star team. Coshocton's Pheonix Celeschi was named to the second team. The honorable mention list included Coshocton's Mallorie Stamper and Ridgewood's Kaydence Lahna.
This District 5 Volleyball Coaches Association/McDonald's All-Star Match will take place Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
