Minerva girls golf stays perfect with four straight EBC wins
The Minerva girls golf team continued its unbeaten run with four Eastern Buckeye Conference victories in a six-day span, improving to 12-0 overall and 6-0 in league play.
On Aug. 15 at Carroll Meadows, the Lions edged Carrollton 178–184. Freshman Emery Sell fired a season-best 38, and senior Hannah Kirkpatrick carded a personal-best 46. Peyton Beaumariage added a 45, and junior Delaney Sell shot a 49 to secure the win.
Four days later, Minerva rolled past Alliance 181–205 Aug. 19 at Sleepy Hollow Country Club. Beaumariage led the way with a 41, followed by consistent rounds from Emery Sell, Savanna Bartley with a 48, and Delaney Sell with a 49.
The Lions returned home Aug. 20 and kept rolling, defeating John Glenn and Claymont in a tri-match with a team score of 174. Beaumariage posted a 40, while Emery Sell and Delaney Sell each shot 44. Kirkpatrick contributed a 46, and seniors Mady Bartley and Savanna Bartley added rounds of 49 and 50. Head Coach Kenneth Beaumariage credited the balanced lineup for the victory.
Minerva capped the week Aug. 21 with a 176–181 road win over West Branch at Westville Golf Course. Emery Sell led with a 37, followed by Beaumariage’s 41. Mady Bartley finished with a 48, and Delaney Sell rounded out the scoring with a 50.
The Lions will return to action Aug. 27 at Great Trail for another matchup against West Branch.
