Tenaska provided Carroll County’s Emergency Management Agency with a $5,000 grant. Commissioners approved allowing EMA Director Tom Cottis to purchase new furniture and office equipment for the agency’s new annex building offices.
Commissioner Donald E. Leggett II confirmed with Commissioner Robert Wirkner that the grant was originally for a new truck for the EMA office.
“Tenaska granted this to buy a new truck, but Encino donated a truck before these funds,” Wirkner said. “The EMA contacted Tenaska to see if they wanted the money back, but Tenaska agreed to allow them to use it for furniture or equipment for the new building.”
