Carrollton schools announce December Christmas concerts
The directors invite the public to come and celebrate the season with 103 student musicians

Christmas concerts are scheduled in December by the instrumental and vocal music departments at Carrollton High School.
The combined Band and Choir Christmas Festival will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
The CHS Concert Band, under the direction of David Dickerhoof and Lorie Strader, will perform “Holiday Festival Overture,” “Christmas Exhilaration” and “Carmen Christmas.” The combined CHS choirs, directed by Mindy Domer, will present “Mary Sat A-Rockin’ ” and “Do You Hear What I Hear?” The Chamber Chorus will add arrangements of “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “Jingle Bells” and Wilhousky’s “Carol of the Bells.” The Concert Band and choirs will close the evening with “A Festive Christmas Celebration” and an “It’s the Holiday Season” medley.

Carrollton Middle School will present its band concert Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The eighth-grade band will perform “March of the Winter Elves” by Randall Standridge, “A Winter Memory” by Roland Barrett, “Christmas Concerto No. 3 (for soloist and band)” by Robert W. Smith and “Santa the Barbarian: Snowpocalypse” by Randall Standridge.
The seventh-grade band program includes “A Festive Fanfare” by Brian Balmages, “A Christmas Trilogy” by Eric Osterling, “The Christmas Clock” by Timothy Johnson and “Santa the Barbarian and the Pirates of the North Pole” by Randall Standridge.
The sixth-grade band will perform “Band on the Housetop” by Timothy Loest, “Winter Winds” by Randall Standridge, “Chant de Noel (Sing We Now of Christmas)” arranged by Michael Story and “Santa the Barbarian” by Randall Standridge.
