Animal Protection League raises $14,000 toward new shelter opening
Funds from 15th annual benefit dinner will help equip Carroll County’s no-kill shelter, set to open in spring 2026.
On behalf of the Carroll County Animal Protection League’s officers, board of directors and members, we thank all attendees, individuals and businesses for their silent auction items and monetary sponsorships for our 15th Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction, held Oct. 25, at the Minerva Community Building. The event raised nearly $14,000 to help purchase needed items for our shelter once it opens for adoptions.
We appreciate our hardworking volunteers for organizing the event, collecting items, selling tickets and supporting our efforts. Since 2007, we have raised $1.2 million for our shelter through memberships, grants, endowment gifts, wills, special events and fundraisers—without county or state funding.
The shell of the shelter was built in June 2015. Our goal was 10 years to complete and open it, and we hope to open in spring 2026.
With construction complete, we’re now raising funds for a $60,000 generator, a $5,000 propane tank, and other interior needs at our no-kill shelter, 4901 Canton Road NW, Carrollton.
