Wayne County 4-Hers earn Ohio State Fair honors
Twelve Wayne County 4-Hers earned top awards at the Ohio State Fair for their Still and Family and Consumer Sciences projects.
Ana McClain and Charles Haley received Outstanding of the Day ribbons and clock trophies for winning their project categories. McClain represented the county in the project How Does Your Garden Grow? Haley competed with the project Science Fun With Physics.
Also winning Outstanding of the Day awards were Harlow Smith, Sew Fun — Junior; Piper Sprowl, Terrific Tops; Ruth Steiner, Sew For Others — Junior; Elena Plessinger, Yeast Breads on the Rise; Julianna Varno, Relationships 101 — Senior; Grace Hovest, Self-Determined Creative Arts; Elijah Immel, Bicycling For Fun — Level 1; James Ackerman, Science Fun With Flight; Blake Sigler, Science Fun With Dairy Foods; and Caleb Mairs, Woodworking — Finishing Up.
Outstanding of the Day honors are awarded to the top 20% of each class. A clock trophy is given to the class winner.
