Free fly-fishing clinic set for Oct. 9 in Wooster

Trout Unlimited event includes skill-building session and on-stream practice in Apple Creek.

The Clear Fork River Chapter of Trout Unlimited will host a free Learn to Fly Fish clinic Oct. 9 at Freedlander Chalet in Wooster, with follow-up on-stream fishing Oct. 11 at Grosjean Park in Apple Creek.

The Clear Fork River Chapter of Trout Unlimited will offer a free Learn to Fly Fish clinic Oct. 9 at Freedlander Chalet in Wooster, followed by on-stream fishing for trout at Grosjean Park in Apple Creek on Oct. 11.

The clinic is open to those with no experience and those with limited experience who wish to brush up on their fly-fishing skills. Family members are encouraged to participate. Those age 16 and older must possess a valid Ohio fishing license.

All fishing is catch and release. To sign up, visit the Ohio Department of Natural Resources/Exploring Fly Fishing: Learn the Basics (NE OH).
