Welty Middle School to present ‘Pure Imagination: A Musical Review’

A family-friendly celebration of songs from Broadway musicals and classic family films is set for Feb. 12-14

Built around the theme of creativity and possibility, the revue explores how imagination can inspire confidence, courage and connection.

Welty Middle School will present its winter musical, “Pure Imagination: A Musical Review,” a family-friendly celebration of songs from Broadway musicals and classic family films.

Built around the theme of creativity and possibility, the revue explores how imagination can inspire confidence, courage and connection. Through a sequence of musical numbers, performers share stories of dreaming big, embracing individuality and believing in what’s possible. The production features a range of musical styles and themes meant to highlight the joy and magic of musical theater.

The cast includes Avery Baker, Aubrey Berman, Brynn Bollon, Izzy Bradford, Sachi Chambers, Audrey Cooper, Addison Currence, Ava Eick, Olivia Eick, Cambria Gladman, Alayna Graham, Angelina Grewell, Jackson Grubb, Emelyn Guthrie, Alanah Jones, Stella Kinkade, Kami Medina, Betty Millard, Taiana Morris, Leah Penso, Norah Rotunno, Alexa Sinsel-Wallace, Jeremey Slasor-Watkins, Parker Stein, Ali Taylor, Lillian Wright and Danielle Young.

Performances will be held Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 12-14, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 and will be sold at the door.

The show is directed by Christa Roberts, with Chad Roberts serving as technical director.

“Pure Imagination: A Musical Review” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International and includes songs by Lynn Ahrens, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Howard Ashman, Chad Beguelin, Leslie Bricusse, Morris “Moose” Charlap, Martin Charnin, Anthony Drewe, Stephen Flaherty, Zina Goldrich, Marcy Heisler, Carolyn Leigh, David Lindsay-Abaire, Robert Lopez, Alan Menken, Tim Minchin, Anthony Newley, Tim Rice, Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, Matthew Sklar, George Stiles, Charles Strouse, Jeanine Tesori, Deborah Wicks La Puma and Mo Willems.
