Fort Laurens Museum opens season with free speaker series
The talk spans the years from the eve of the French and Indian War to the American Revolution
Fort Laurens Museum opens for the 2026 season Saturday, May 2, and kicks off its Free Speaker Series featuring author Alan Fitzpatrick at 11 a.m. in the Fort Laurens Theater.
Fitzpatrick will lead an in-depth discussion of the momentous events in what was known as the Ohio Country during the mid- to late 18th century that reshaped the lives and traditional culture of the Indigenous tribes living there. The talk spans the years from the eve of the French and Indian War to the American Revolution and examines major factors threatening tribal presence and cultural cohesion. The Speaker Series is free and open to the public, with free parking at Fort Laurens Museum.
The museum will have the following schedule for the season:
May: Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
