Medina Chocolate Walk returns Oct. 18 with sweets, prizes and downtown fun
The Medina County Arts Council’s fourth annual fundraiser will feature chocolate treats from local businesses, giveaways and support for arts programs.
Chocolate lovers will have plenty to celebrate this fall when the Medina County Arts Council hosts its fourth annual Chocolate Walk on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in historic downtown Medina.
The fundraiser invites participants to stroll Medina’s Public Square and downtown businesses to visit official “Chocolatiers” and collect at least 20 chocolate treats along the way.
“This event is not only a fun way to enjoy chocolate, but it also helps support the Medina County Arts Council’s programs and initiatives,” said Abigail Sweigert, president of the council. “We’re excited to bring together local businesses, community members, and chocolate lovers for a day of fun and indulgence.”
New this year is a giveaway from the Medina Pedal Company, offering participants the chance to win a free two-hour booking for 14 riders on the “Beecycle,” a prize valued at $400. Each ticket purchased includes an entry into the drawing.
Tickets cost $30 during the presale period, Aug. 28 through Sept. 14, and $35 from Sept. 15 through Oct. 18. Each ticket includes a Chocolate Walk map, a reusable event tote, a storage container, bottled water and entry into the Beecycle giveaway. Tickets are limited, and organizers encourage early purchase. Check-in will be at the Root Candles Community Room, 623 W. Liberty St., before participants set off to collect their chocolates from businesses around the square.
Businesses and organizations can get involved as “Chocolatiers,” offering samples while showcasing their brand, or by hosting a chocolatier on-site. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, helping fund arts programs, supplies for underserved residents and scholarships for graduating seniors.
The Medina County Arts Council, a nonprofit founded in 1983, supports and promotes creativity through grants, scholarships and community events.
