Medina Library to offer summer writing workshops, critique groups
Programs include memoir writing, Canva workshop and author-led critique sessions
Medina County District Library is offering several upcoming writing-focused programs this summer for aspiring authors, readers and creatives.
The library also offers nearly a dozen book clubs. Monthly meeting dates and reading selections are available at mcdl.info/BookEvents.
The library’s Writers Series will include the Plot Twist Critique Group, hosted by published local author Kris Renee. The Zoom sessions are scheduled for Thursdays, June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20 at 6 p.m.
The critique group is designed for active writers to discuss current projects, explore topics related to the craft of writing and receive feedback on submitted work in a participatory environment.
Author Laura Grace Weldon will lead a four-part memoir writing workshop Tuesdays, July 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Medina Library. Sessions will focus on themes including childhood, learning, food and the body.
Medina Library also will host “The Creative Author’s Guide to Canva” on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. The workshop, led by Renee, will teach authors how to use Canva to create graphics for books and social media.
Registration for the writing programs is available at mcdl.info/Writers.
