Heartbeats Jump Rope Team to host community show, weekly classes

Free June performance and ongoing training program highlight nationally recognized team

The Heartbeats Jump Rope Team will host a free community performance Saturday, June 6, at 7 p.m. at Haddad Theater, 144 N. Broadway St., Medina.

The event will feature the nationally recognized jump rope team performing routines showcasing athletic skills, teamwork and entertainment. Organizers also will hold a 50/50 raffle and bake sale during the event.

Founded in 1992 in the Revere School District, the Heartbeats Jump Rope Team is a nonprofit amateur athletic organization made up of young athletes from Northeast Ohio. The team competes at regional, national and international levels and regularly participates in the USA Jump Rope National Championship and the AAU Junior Olympics.

Team members have appeared in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade five times since 2008, most recently in 2021, and have been featured on ESPN, Fox Sports and “America’s Got Talent.”

The organization also announced weekly jump rope classes at its practice facility, Medina Creative Housing, 3074 Remsen Road, Medina. The classes are designed to teach jump rope skills while promoting coordination, endurance, strength and overall fitness for children and athletes of all skill levels.
