The Children’s Center of Medina County has appointed Madison Davisson as its new executive director, bringing continuity and frontline experience to the organization’s leadership.

Davisson succeeds Ashley Krause, who concluded her tenure with The Children’s Center following her family’s relocation out of state. The Children’s Center of Medina County serves children and families impacted by abuse and neglect by providing pathways to healing.

Davisson joined The Children’s Center in late 2023 as a forensic interviewer and case coordinator at the Child Advocacy Center, where she worked directly with children during investigations of abuse and neglect. In that role, she helped create a safe, trauma-informed environment for children to share their experiences while coordinating closely with law enforcement, child protective services, victim advocates, prosecutors, medical professionals and mental health professionals.

“I am humbled to take this next step as executive director of The Children’s Center of Medina County,” Davisson said. “It is an honor to serve alongside a committed team and a strong community united in protecting children. I look forward to continuing our work as we advocate for safe and healthy childhoods for all children.”

Prior to joining The Children’s Center, Davisson served for several years with RAHAB Ministries as a victim advocate and case manager for the Summit Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, serving Summit, Stark, Portage and Medina counties. In that role, she provided on-scene crisis response alongside law enforcement when suspected human trafficking was reported, as well as long-term case management for individuals continuing in services. She also served as a supervisor for a safe house supporting juvenile victims of human trafficking and at-risk youth through comprehensive, wraparound services.

“Madison has been a committed and trusted member of our organization and has consistently demonstrated leadership grounded in compassion, integrity and a deep dedication to child advocacy,” said Amanda Hansen, president of The Children’s Center Board of Directors. “Her understanding of trauma-informed care, multidisciplinary collaboration and the unique needs of the children and families we serve positions her well to lead the center forward.”

Davisson earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a concentration in counseling and human development from Liberty University. During her studies, she gained international experience in Romania and Greece, where she explored cultural perspectives and the psychological impact of human trafficking.

“This leadership transition reflects the strength and sustainability of our organization,” Krause said. “I’m incredibly proud to see this role filled by someone who understands our mission, multidisciplinary partnerships and commitment to child safety. This continuity strengthens our work and ensures we remain steadfast in protecting children and supporting families.”

As executive director, Davisson plans to build on The Center’s foundation while continuing to enhance services, partnerships and community impact across Medina County. She is available for interviews regarding the leadership transition, child advocacy trends and trauma-informed responses.

The Children’s Center of Medina County empowers children and families to heal from abuse, neglect and exploitation by reducing trauma and providing compassionate, coordinated care.

Through its nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center, Anti-Human Trafficking Program, Foster Care Visitation Center and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program, The Center provides comprehensive support in a safe, family-friendly environment.

The organization also leads the Medina County Coalition Against Human Trafficking, promoting community education and prevention. More information is available at medinacountychildrenscenter.org.
