West Holmes girls basketball wins sectional title

The West Holmes girls basketball team captured a Division IV sectional title by beating John Glenn 48-32 in a sectional final Feb. 19.

Zalina Proper (19 points, three steals, three assists), Briar Cline (14 points, seven rebounds, four assists), Cara McMillen (eight points, four rebounds) and Mati Fair (five rebounds) led the Knights.

Boys basketball

Manchester picked up a 62-47 win over West Holmes in nonleague play Feb. 20.

Cooper Maltarich (14 points), Coi Beachy (10), Keston McKinney (eight) and Nate Sprang (seven) led the Knights.
