The West Holmes boys basketball team defeated Newcomerstown 54-51 in nonleague play Jan. 13.
Cooper Maltarich (14 points), Nate Sprang (12), Preston Troyer (seven) and Keston McKinney (seven) paced WH.
Ashland picked up a 77-62 win over West Holmes in Ohio Cardinal Conference action Jan. 9.
Sprang (23 points), McKinney (12) and Troyer (10) led the Knights.
Girls basketball
West Holmes picked up a 46-30 victory over Lexington in an OCC battle Jan. 12.
Zalina Proper (15 points, four steals), Cara McMillen (13 points, four rebounds), Lilli Brown (10 points, three steals), Rorie Wilcox (eight rebounds) and Mati Fair (three steals) led the Knights.
Madison downed West Holmes 39-33 in an OCC clash Jan. 10.
Proper (11 points, three steals), McMillen (eight points, three steals), Fair (four rebounds), Wilcox (seven rebounds) and Gabby Fowler (five rebounds) paced WH.
