Wayne SWCD seeks student entries for its poster contest
Published Modified

Wayne Soil and Water Conservation District is looking for entries at all grade levels in its annual Conservation Poster Contest. Any Wayne County student in kindergarten through 12th grade may enter.

Through this National Association of Conservation Districts-sponsored contest, young artists can showcase their creativity while learning about conservation.

This year’s theme, “Home Is Where the Habitat Is,” highlights the role of both natural and managed habitats in conservation efforts. Posters must have this theme displayed as the title. Initially judged at the local level, Wayne SWCD will award cash prizes to winners in each age category. Winning entries are sent on to compete at the state level over the summer.

Posters are a way for youth to tell a story everyone can understand while learning to be stewards of natural resources. Contest rules and guidelines can be found at www.nacdnet.org. Click the Get Involved tab.

For more information visit www.wayneswcd.org and click the Education tab or call 330-263-5376. Posters must be delivered to the Wayne SWCD office in Wooster or scanned and sent electronically to info@wayneswcd.org. The entry deadline is April 25 at 4:30 p.m.
