Millersburg Council reviews sidewalk project, traffic signals
Council reviews sidewalk plans and smart traffic signals; seeks merchant feedback.

Millersburg Village Council met Feb. 9 and discussed the following:
—The design review board met Feb. 4 and approved the COA from The Mouse House on South Clay Street.
—The village received updated design plans on the downtown sidewalk project and has a meeting scheduled Feb. 12 with the downtown merchants to review and discuss the plans and receive their feedback.
—The poles and brackets for the lighting at Airport Park were shipped but not received as of yet.
—The downtown smart traffic signals are live. The village is hoping to have some data for council soon.
—The village is waiting on fiber installation for the phone systems at its office. Spectrum was recently out to look around and get some ideas.

—The EPA generator grant has been submitted. The village is waiting on an announcement.
—As part of the village's PEP insurance coverage, it receives an annual $1,000 reimbursement grant for anything safety-related. This year the village is getting high-visibility shirts/apparel for the utility and street departments. Next year Police Chief Matthew Shaner will determine a use for the money for his department.
—Residents are encouraged to register on the new online water bill system. If they sign up for auto pay with a checking or savings account, there are no fees. If they register with a credit card, debit card or e-check, there are excess fees.
—Village Administrator Nate Troyer will meet with Susan Moore of Ohio Regional Development to discuss funding to finish the Wooster Road waterline project. The village received $400,000 from a federal grant through Troy Balderson's office.
—Ron Kiner, a patrol officer with the police department who was hired in August 2025, was removed from probation.
—The Tree City Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 18.
—Council decided to have a table July 25 at the county’s 250th celebration of America.
—The Village of Millersburg Garage Sale Day will be April 25. The village-wide Cleanup Day will be May 2.
