West Holmes athletes earn All-Ohio Cardinal Conference basketball honors

Multiple players from West Holmes recognized on OCC hoops teams for 2025-26 season.

Zalina Proper earned first-team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference honors to lead West Holmes, which also had multiple other players recognized across the all-conference basketball teams.

West Holmes was well represented on the All-Ohio Cardinal Conference basketball teams for the 2025-26 season, highlighted by multiple selections on both the boys and girls sides.

On the boys team, West Holmes placed three players on the all-conference list, with Nate Sprang earning second-team honors and Cooper Maltarich and Preston Troyer named honorable mention. The conference Player of the Year was Ashland senior Paxon Ediger.

For the girls, Zalina Proper earned first-team honors for West Holmes while Briar Cline was named to the second team. Cara McMillen and Mati Fair were both selected as honorable mention. Ashland junior Kennedy Lacey was named the conference Player of the Year, and Ashland’s Renee Holt was selected as Coach of the Year.
