The best weekly loser said to drink water first thing in the morning.
Lana Rush was the best weekly KOPS and gave tips for the Easy as A B C: 26-Day Healthy Eating Contest.
Gay Keller gave a program titled Understanding Daily Protein Needs for Adults, Seniors from The Bargain Hunter. To determine how many grams of protein someone needs, multiply their ideal weight by 0.04. A woman under 65 needs 50-70 grams a day, and a man under 65 needs 60-80 grams. Older adults require almost double the protein combined with strength training twice a week to maintain muscle mass and health.
The club meets at the Nashville Global Methodist Church Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., with weigh-in at 5 p.m. The first meeting is free.
