Holmes County Library unveils February events
Programs for all ages include storytimes, book clubs, and a reading challenge.
The Holmes County District Public Library will offer winter reading programs, storytimes, children’s activities and adult book clubs at multiple locations throughout February.

The Holmes County District Public Library announced its February schedule of events and programs, offering activities for adults, teens and children throughout the month. For more information or to register for any of the programs, visit the library or call 330-674-5972.
The library’s Winter Reading Program for adults, teens and kids runs through Feb. 28. Kids up to age 12 are invited to participate by reading and earning prizes. Registration is required, and the deadline to submit reading logs is Saturday, Feb. 28.
Storytimes will be offered at several library locations. At the Killbuck Library, storytimes are held Tuesdays, Feb. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 10:30 a.m. At the East Branch Library, storytimes take place Wednesdays, Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 10:30 a.m. Storytimes at the Holmes Central Library are scheduled Fridays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 10:30 a.m. Children age 2-5 and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend any of the storytimes, which include stories, songs, rhymes and more.
Also at the Holmes Central Library, the Little Learners Playgroup will be held Fridays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 11 a.m. Kids up to age 5 and their parents or caregivers can stop by for an hour of playtime through hands-on activities designed to promote reading and social skills. Snacks will be provided.
Visitors to the Holmes Central Library can make Valentine’s Day cards by visiting the children’s room Monday, Feb. 9 through Saturday, Feb. 14.
The Holmes Central Library also will host Paws to Read Saturday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to noon, when children can stop by the children's department to read to therapy dogs from Caring Therapy Canines. The event also will celebrate Clifford the Big Red Dog’s 63rd birthday.
Two adult book clubs will meet at the Holmes Central Library Tuesday, Feb. 24. The 1 p.m. book club will discuss "The Forget-Me-Not Library" by Heather Webber, and the 6 p.m. book club will discuss "All We Thought We Knew" by Michelle Shocklee. Copies of both books are available to check out at the Holmes Central Library.
