Eight volunteers with the Holmes County Democratic Party collected 19 bags of trash during a highway cleanup April 18 east of Millersburg.

The Holmes County Democratic Party held a litter pickup April 18, with volunteers gathering at County Road 624 and state Route 39 east of Millersburg.

Eight members participated in the effort, working together to clean the group’s adopted highway. Weather conditions were favorable for outdoor work.

Volunteers collected a total of 19 bags of trash, improving the appearance of the roadway.

The most unusual item found during the cleanup was a Santa Claus hat.
