Youngsters pictured in a front page photo story during the pre-school clinic in Carrollton included Elizabeth Nichols being examined by Dr. Charles Dowell, Jimmy Griffeth being examined by Dr. Jack Maffett and Kathy Theil being examined by Dr. T.J. Atchison.

The two delegates to Buckeye Girls State from Carrollton High School were Carol Ann Hall and Frances Clair Herron.

Gary Chaddock was the winning pitcher for the Merchants baseball team in a 3-2 win over Kilgore.

Miss Mary Herron, associate professor of English at Malone College, retired after a teaching career of 45 years.

The Economic Development Administration approved a loan for $443,050 to Ohio Poly Corporation in Carrollton to establish a plastics plant and create 47 jobs.

Carroll County 4-H club members selected to attend the 54th annual Ohio 4-H Club Congress at Ohio State University in Columbus included Diane Jones, Alice Rutledge, Pere Seward, John Mangun, Kathy Bland, Barbara Woods, and Jeff Marteney.
