Strasburg Lions to host car show
A 1954 blue Oldsmobile convertible was showcased at last year’s car show at ProVia.

The Strasburg Lions Club will sponsor a car show in the west parking lot of ProVia at 10190 U.S. 21, north of Strasburg, July 19 from noon to 3 p.m. Cars, motorcycles and all vehicles are welcome to enter. All proceeds from the car show will be used for scholarships for Strasburg seniors and community improvement projects.
Registration for those entering will be from 10 a.m. to noon with a $10 entry fee. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 entries. There are two special awards: the Walt Stockert Memorial Trophy and President’s Choice.
Eleven categories will be awarded for best entry including Historical (pre-1980), Ford (includes T-Bird), Truck, Chevrolet, Corvette, Open Class, Other GMs (Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac), Chrysler (Dodge, Plymouth), Rat Rod, Motorcycle and Semi Truck.
Vehicles can enter from Ohio 21 or U.S. 250. Spectators are asked to park in the parking lot on the south side of the building.
There will be a 50/50 drawing, and 15 BellStores $25 gas cards will be awarded. DJ Spikeman will provide musical entertainment. Ross Mountain Barbecue will offer a variety of sandwiches. The Strasburg softball team will sell lemonade and water. Miller’s Creamery will offer frozen treats for sale.
