The Shop Holmes, Support Home shop local initiative will return to Holmes County again this holiday season after its successful program launch in 2023. The shop local passport program, coordinated by the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce, is designed to incentivize customers to shop locally, resulting in higher customer traffic at participating businesses while providing customers with a chance to win cash and prizes.
“Small business is the backbone of any local economy. When people spend their dollars locally, they make a positive impact on the livelihood of Holmes County businesses, their employees and residents,” said Tiffany Gerber, executive director of Holmes County Chamber of Commerce. “On average, of every $100 spent locally, $68 is returned to the Holmes County community. It’s a win/win for everyone."
The Shop Holmes, Support Home passport program will kick off Wednesday, Nov. 5 and will run for six weeks, with passport entries due by Friday, Dec. 19. Passports can be picked up at the Chamber of Commerce office located at 6 W. Jackson St. in Millersburg or at participating Shop Holmes, Support Home businesses.
Shoppers need to visit at least five participating businesses and spend $25 or more at each business to receive a passport sticker for each qualifying visit. Passports marked with five stickers will qualify for a chance to win a cash prize of $500, $250 or gift cards from participating businesses. Winners will be selected Monday, Dec. 22.
Completed passports can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce office in Millersburg, the Behalt Heritage Center in Berlin, or can be mailed to the Chamber of Commerce, 6 W. Jackson St., Millersburg, OH 44654.
All entries need to be received by Friday, Dec. 19 to qualify for prize entry. The deadline for area businesses to enroll in the program is Monday, Oct. 20. Questions regarding business enrollment or customer participation can be directed to the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce at 330-674-3975 or email administrative@holmescountychamber.com.
