On Saturday, May 10, Save & Serve Thrift Shop held a Benefit Day to support The Pantry at Millersburg Church of God. The event raised $3,691.89 to help provide food for individuals and families facing food insecurity in the local community.
The pantry serves a range of people in need including single parents, seniors, disabled veterans, the unemployed and working families struggling to make ends meet. With a focus on meeting basic nutritional needs, the pantry ensures no one in the community has to face an empty cupboard alone.
“We’re thankful for the pantry’s valuable work in our community, and we’re honored to partner with them in this way,” said Eric Raber, general manager of Save & Serve. “The volunteers with the pantry are an inspiring example of people giving of their time for the good of others.”
Volunteers from Millersburg Church of God joined at the store during the Benefit Day, helping at the registers and connecting with customers. Their presence helped raise awareness about the ongoing needs in the community and the role the pantry plays in meeting them.
Save & Serve’s Benefit Day program donates 100% of store sales on select days throughout the year to local nonprofits serving Holmes County.
