Safe from all harm
Local poet Angela Chapman reflects on faith and redemption in her latest work
That final step was about to take place,
To be lost forever without a trace.
Ready to fall into an eternal hellfire,
When Jesus intervened, calling the devil a liar.
The words of Jesus fell on his lips,
Sin was erased as the blood covered sin's abyss.
Carried by angels to the throne room of God,
Where saints and the redeemed only may trod.
Praising God now are the words that speak,
From those whose hearts for Jesus did seek.
Eternal salvation is given to them,
As humbly each one had touched Jesus' hem.
There's joy and peace with no pain ever,
In this eternal home with God forever.
God's light will shine always with splendor and awe,
Because of the atoning cross each saint saw.
The lamb's feasted table has plenty of room,
This table is one of a kind, given by the savior — the bridegroom.
A reservation is needed to be a part,
You'll receive it when you repent and give Jesus your heart.
Now gone is the sin that stained your soul,
You're now with Jesus, as he made you whole.
You're not lost but found and in the master's arms,
You were once that lost sheep, but now you're safe from all harm.
