—DRB approved the COAs for window replacements at American Hall and signage requests for Urban Farmgirl/Modern Farmhouse and Wellness and Family Medicine.
—P&Z recommended approval of the change of zoning district request from JDM Rentals for 440 Marchand St. from R-3 to SU. There will be a public hearing for this May 26 at 6:45 p.m. P&Z also approved the fence height variance requests from Alan and Toni Fair at 336 S. Alexander St. and Gayle Patterson at 615 Elm St.
—The crossing for Pomerene Hospital is ordered. The village is awaiting delivery, which should be in a few weeks.
—Pathmaster sent one referral from a town that has traffic lights that communicate. The village is awaiting other responses from them for other referrals.
—The village is awaiting survey and descriptions from Baker for the Steimel easement. The village is optimistic it can get the easement done before the auction of the Steimel property.
—The village is purchasing 250 tons of salt on its ODOT contract.
—Village administrator Nate Troyer is working on an annexation agreement for Jordan Properties (Midwest Health) across from Meadow Glen on East Jones Street.
—The village is having preliminary discussions with the new owner of the 54-acre property that Hipp sold on 241 about annexation and a possible residential development.
—May 16 at 2 p.m. is the Peace Officer Memorial on the courthouse lawn. The rain location will be on the third floor of the courthouse in the Common Pleas Courtroom.
—Mayor Kelly Hoffee thanked Millersburg Electric and the United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties for their assistance in getting electricity for an elderly lady on March 27.
—HDM is seeking committee members for its four committees: organization, design, promotions and economic vitality. Anyone interested in being on any of those committees can contact Taylor Sigler at HDM.
—The lawsuit of Maurice Mann vs. The Village of Millersburg may be coming to a close. The final deposition will not be known for a little while, but it will result in a financial burden to the village.
—A lawsuit with the trailer park was filed, and the village was named as one of the defendants. The village has to file an answer to deal with its water and sewer liens, which total around $50,000. A receiver has been named for the park, who will now care for things in the park, as far as water leaks, sewer leaks, dumpsters and boarding up vacant trailers.
—Village Solicitor Bob Hines’ legal costs and responsibilities were discussed. Council voted 5-1 to amend his contract. On the first and third Friday of every month, he will let the administration and elected officials know where he’s at with his hours by submitting his time sheets, so if council has any questions, it can ask them during council meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
