Heartland Technical Education Center board approves donations and staffing changes

Board accepts glove donation for Health Tech, OKs hires, resignations and contract amendments; next meeting Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.

The Heartland Technical Education Center Board of Education met Sept. 18 in the board room for a regular meeting.

The board did the following during the meeting:

—Approved a donation from Dale Roy School of 15 cases of powder medical gloves valued at $32 to the Health Tech program.

—Approved the Teachers Assisting Teachers mentors, effective the 2025-26 contract year.

—Approved the employment of adult education part-time certified personnel Michelle McBride, career development lead.

—Approved the resignation of Laura Jordan, animal veterinary science parapro.

—Approved the employment of full-time classified personnel Kathleen Beachy, animal veterinary science parapro.

—Approved an amendment to the employment of part-time classified personnel Nina Spillman.

—Approved the employment of certified/classified personnel as substitutes.

—Approved the employment of district certified/classified personnel as substitutes.

—Approved an amendment to the employment of part-time classified temporary personnel Sara Burkett, cafeteria worker.

—Authorized a release agreement between Heartland Technical Education Center and Robert Fullmer (owner) in order to compromise, resolve and settle all matters between HTEC and owner.

—Authorized an amendment to the superintendent’s contract, effective Aug. 1, 2025, as presented.

—Authorized an amendment to the supervisory of technology’s contract and the supervisory of maintenance’s contract, effective Aug. 1, 2025, as presented.

—Authorized a retroactive supplemental contract with Richard Brindley for construction project duties performed in the amount of $8,400.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
