HCECF launches new Community Grant Program
HCECF invites nonprofits to apply by Oct. 1 for funding aimed at expanding local impact and supporting community needs.
The Holmes County Education & Community Foundation announced the launch of its new Community Grant Program, designed to support local nonprofits and community organizations making a positive impact in Holmes County.
Holley Johnson, executive director of HCECF, said of the implementation of the new program, “We are thrilled to be able to introduce this new grant program. Holmes County’s local nonprofits and charitable entities represent the heartbeat of our community. This grant program allows us to invest in these local organizations and help them expand their reach and impact.”
Applications and eligibility guidelines are available online at www.hcef.net/community-grants. Completed applications are due back to HCECF by Oct. 1. Grant recipients will be announced by Nov. 30 with funding to begin shortly thereafter.
“What makes these grants especially meaningful is that they come from funds within our foundation created by donors who wanted to ensure their giving would continue to shape lives for generations,” Johnson said.
To create a fund at the foundation or give to one of HCECF’s established community funds, visit www.hcef.net/giving, email Johnson at hjohnson@hcef.net or call 330-674-7303.
The HCECF was created in 1989 by a donor with the goal of encouraging further education for the residents of Holmes County. Since 1991 over $12 million has been granted for the betterment of Holmes County youth and adults. This has been accomplished by the awarding of college scholarships, professional development grants and trade school scholarships.
In 2021 the education foundation was expanded to become a community foundation, connecting resources with the need to improve the quality of life in Holmes County.
HCECF seeks to build a strong future for Holmes County nonprofits and to help address emerging needs in the community.
